I have some exciting news!! I have been offered a position as weekly contributor for the online fashion mag, The Lookhit. Take a look and follow my articles; I’m officially getting published by someone that’s not me!
My first article was about the paraffin wax manicure. I’ll post them on here too but keep looking at the magazine and see what the other writers have to offer.
The latest hot thing to hit the beauty world; paraffin wax manicures.
The concept of using wax on your skin might seem a little strange at first, but lend a thought to all of those sculptures at Madame Tussaud’s, they haven’t aged a bit!
While you may not stay ageless quite as long as a sculpture, the revolutionary paraffin wax manicure will leave both your skin and nails feeling refreshed, revitalised and brand-spanking new. After a thorough polish and moisturise, hands are double, sometimes triple-dipped into a bag of warm, melted paraffin wax and left to “set” for anywhere from five to thirty minutes. Once you’re all set, you’re ready to go. The hardened wax simply peels off your hand, leaving you with that after-treatment feeling of baby-soft skin.
This wax treatment is superior to your standard mani because it takes care of your whole hand, rather than just the nail, as is the case with a usual buff, polish and colour. Unfortunately, paraffin is something of a luxury and this fab treatment can come with a bit of a price tag. Maybe something to save for a special day of pampering?
So why paraffin wax? Paraffin wax is very oily and is well known for its ability to lock-in moisture. It is also a wax that is liquid at 35 degrees (Celsius) which means it won’t burn the skin. The manicure works by opening the pores and increasing circulation, relieving sore muscles and joints and easing the symptoms of conditions such as arthritis, carpal tunnel and eczema. Often infused with the likes of tea tree oil, chamomile or aloe vera, paraffin is perfect for a soothing and relaxing treatment for your body and your mind.
The whole treatment is luxurious and uplifting and with my next pay-cheque will come a paraffin manicure. If you’ve got other engagements which are leaving your funds limited, have a girly night and try this at home, you’ll find loads of clips and instructions on YouTube.
Give the paraffin manicure a go; your hands will love you for it!
